Beacuse it doesn't make headlines. Also, it's about 1,600 voters affected. Not great, but a pretty small amount if you think about it.
I hope the board of elections contacts them and tells htem to come in to early voting to register again.
There are 5,811,383 registered voters in Virginia. Youngkin only removed 1/3,632 voters. This removal is completely irrelevant to the presidential election outcome for Virginia. Biden won by 451,138 votes in 2020 and this voter purge is equal to 0.35% of these votes. This is will have absolutely no impact on who wins the state.

no one is saying that non-citizens should vote. There is a law prohibiting non-citizens from voting. VA is purging records incredibly close to the election which is what the problem is. They are also purging a hell of a lot of citizens due to clerical errors and because it's so close to the election they will not have a chance to appeal and rectify the mistake. Do you think citizens should be denied the right to vote? What is wrong with you?
No, they purged them months ago. People are just getting caught now when they try to vote illegally.

Why doesn’t the Supreme Court require VA to follow federal law? I bet the vast majority of those disenfranchised are citizens. There just isn’t a problem with noncitizens trying to vote in the US. Unfortunately maga has decided to make this a theme (no caravan this year) and the Supreme Court is happy to fall in line.

Show me where there is a "I am not a US citizen" checkbox. There's not.
I'm confused too, because the news on NBC4 last night showed a form where some of them did select "not a US citizen." I think it was at the DMV maybe? I'm curious what form it was too.
I read that it was a DMV form. Given that people can change from not being a citizen to becoming one it seems like relying on old forms from the DMV would include people who are now citizens.
It also seems likely that people are going to make mistakes whether that’s checking the wrong box on the DMV form, or accidentally registering to vote because they didn’t understand the form.
If someone cannot fill out a DMV form properly and they say they are a non-citizen when they are actually a US citizen that is their problem. That is not voter disenfranchisement that is someone being stupid and incorrectly filling out a form. Removing them is 100% appropriate given that they told VA they aren’t a citizen. If they are actually a US citizen they can register using same day register on Election Day.

There is a box at the very top of page 1 on the left side that asks if the applicant is a US citizen and the applicant checks yes or no.

Sorry, meant to add here that you can also vote on the same day you register with this process. So, anyone who got this notification and actually is a citizen can still register and vote. They will not be denied their right to vote.

You can’t purge voters within 90 days of an election—this is a federal law that the Supreme Court chose to ignore.
There are a lot of citizens in those who were purged. You’re okay with Virginia prohibiting citizens from voting? What is wrong with you?
They are not voters to begin with, therefore, removal doesn't exist. Simply, non-citizen, non-votet, just correct an animistrative error.
