At least O'Connell didn't make it. We dodged a bullet there, at least.

I was shocked (but pleased) he didn't make it.

I wasn't surprised he lost. The only white guy to win a City Council race in Alexandria in the last nine years is Kirk McPike.

Thats a little crazy huh?

Whats crazy? That a city that prides itself on diversity doesn't have a single straight white male representing it, despite straight white males being, arguably, the largest or second largest group of citizens?

Greene wanting to add MORE intensive density is a real issue for me too. She needs to go.

Pretty all underwhelming group of people running this year. Pretty sure everyone has given up on this city at this point.

More intense density is extremely concerning. Thanks for sharing that.

+10000 we don't need anymore density. I remember when it used to take five minutes to go down the road now it takes 20-25. Just not worth living here anymore.

It's so crowded, nobody goes there anymore.

McPike is gay, which probably helps, and is very popular with the local Democratic committee members, which definitely helps. And I think his husband has some sort of prominent job, too. People who are well known tend to have an advantage.

Well the mayor was a straight white male, so...

Mayor William D. Euille was black and was mayor for 13 or 14 years what's your point?

Justin Wilson is biracial. His father was an African-American.

Where did she say that? I just watched the forum (with so much echoing). She never said she doesn’t care what residents think. If I missed it, where did she say that?

You are ok with Bagley yelling at people? Cool, cool, cool!

Who did she yell at?

Just about anyone and everyone who voices an opinion that she doesn't agree with.

I've attended plenty of Council public hearings and events with the candidates during the primary. I've never seen her yell at anyone. She has strong opinions, but that's something to be expected from an elected official. The people who don't like her tend to be the people who think that "if my side has more people show up at the public hearing then Council should vote for our position" or "if a Councilman doesn't vote the way I want them to, they didn't listen to us."

This is gaslighting, folks.

It is. Please if anyone has the time or remembers which meetings she went off in please post the days so I can link the meeting right here for all to see.

You've got it wrong. She never says a word at a city council meetings. However, if you want to see her go off attend any civic association meeting in the city.

Hi Sarah, no one got anything wrong. You are not getting my vote rude lady.

Celianna Gunderson new ad came out yesterday you can see it on fb or its probably on her website. She opposes the war on roads and road diets, taking parking spaces, oppose dedicated bus lanes, opposites changing 40+ street names, oppose confusing road markers (zebra stripes in the middle of intersections)! This sounds normal to me. Please if you want the city to head the a better direction please vote for her on city council. She is the only sane choice this election.

NP here. She did some sort of rude behavior or yelling at a civic association this summer, it was all over the Rosemont listserv.
