At least O'Connell didn't make it. We dodged a bullet there, at least.
I was shocked (but pleased) he didn't make it.
I wasn't surprised he lost. The only white guy to win a City Council race in Alexandria in the last nine years is Kirk McPike.
Thats a little crazy huh?

Aguirre ***obnoxiously*** falling asleep during CC meetings in unacceptable and we should be letting someone like him go. Rolling his eyes at residents and other CC members is childish and pathetic. I'd love for someone to explain to me how he keeps getting votes.
Greene wanting to add MORE intensive density is a real issue for me too. She needs to go.
Pretty all underwhelming group of people running this year. Pretty sure everyone has given up on this city at this point.
More intense density is extremely concerning. Thanks for sharing that.
+10000 we don't need anymore density. I remember when it used to take five minutes to go down the road now it takes 20-25. Just not worth living here anymore.

Well the mayor was a straight white male, so...

They’ve both been very responsive to me, they came and met with my neighbors about a local issue, and they’re the two most focused on climate and transit issues. They’re also really close with Gaskins, who I voted for in the mayoral primary.
You are ok with Bagley yelling at people? Cool, cool, cool!
Who did she yell at?
Just about anyone and everyone who voices an opinion that she doesn't agree with.
I've attended plenty of Council public hearings and events with the candidates during the primary. I've never seen her yell at anyone. She has strong opinions, but that's something to be expected from an elected official. The people who don't like her tend to be the people who think that "if my side has more people show up at the public hearing then Council should vote for our position" or "if a Councilman doesn't vote the way I want them to, they didn't listen to us."
This is gaslighting, folks.
It is. Please if anyone has the time or remembers which meetings she went off in please post the days so I can link the meeting right here for all to see.
You've got it wrong. She never says a word at a city council meetings. However, if you want to see her go off attend any civic association meeting in the city.
