Yes, there are a lot of teams, over a 100 at this age group alone on the girls side. But the top brackets have a ton of talent. Don’t see much need to go to NC to play beach or Richmond when you have Match fit, Arlington, Bethesda, NVA and plenty of other top talented teams around. But you enjoy that road trip to NC…again lol!

Matchfit RL team I believe but still good competition.

A ton of RL teams. Competition doesn’t look great but at least it’s local.

Why do you care what others teams do?

At least Jeff Cup still has an extensive list of college coaches that attend.

The ECNL NC event is U12-14 only. There are no college coaches at these pre-high school age group events.

My comment was in reference to the tournament itself where it started off mainly as college showcase before opening it up to younger age groups. It was a response to ECNL showcases being more of a draw which there is no debate. Why would college coaches go anywhere for U12-U14, regardless of tournament. WAGS is not what it was and it keeps declining each year in terms of scout attendance and level of teams attending.

ECNL showcases, where college scouts go to find their bench players for the next couple of years...

Can't have all the top teams if VDA isn't there!

VDA only thinks they are the top teams. Think of it as having a burst of energy. You can have a burst, do well for a while and then be exhausted. This is where VDA is right now. They are mid burst. In a year or two, they will drop below the average. This is the way.

You’ll have a handful of college coaches at WAGS but most are in season so they won’t make it. Fewer coaches are marking that they are going to events so their emails don’t get flooded. It’s great to have WAGS in our backyard but that’s also the issue with it. You can only play the same team so many times. If all the ECNL teams were in it parents would be on here complaining about paying to play the same 4 to 5 same clubs again.

There seems to be a dramatic drop off in team quality by u16. And the top bracket is questionable.

College coaches aren’t going to be at WAGS or Jeff Cup U12-14 games either.
