I can’t remember any times that I’ve been to a baby shower where the Grandma-to-be had her friends there.

If you really have zero issues with this friend, why not just tell her what you told us? You'll get a much better answer that way.

My shower was 90% my mom's friends, 10% mine, the rich aunties are the ones who give the best gifts!

I definitely had my mom’s friends at my shower, both wedding and baby. I think this is pretty normal and typical.

Of my four closest friends who have children, two of us had friends of parents at showers and two of us did not. So it may be normal and typical in your circles but it is definitely not the case everywhere.

My mom lived across the country when I was pregnant and we were somewhat estranged at the time so she didn't come to my shower. My MIL hosted the shower at her house although my friends did the work for it and she invited her "best friend" whom I had never met. It was MIL's house so of course she could invite who she wanted to but I would preferred a woman I didn't know at all not be present at my shower.

Honestly, we have zero issues. We spoke just this week and she didn’t mention having any other big plans this weekend. They were clearly speaking about a baby shower, and I clearly heard her DD. Of course it could be someone else’s shower, but what are the chances?

Why would you expect to be invited her daughter's shower? It's her daughter, not yours. And it's not your friend's shower. I guess it wouldn't bother me but then my best friend has boys. I'm sure I'd invite her to my daughters' showers but I wouldn't be upset if she didn't come. Her mom did come to mine but we've always been close.

Both my mom and Mil have a lot of close friends. Only my friends and family were invited to the shower. My MIL threw me a shower even and it was only for their family.

I’m not sure that parents friends are invited to showers. That reeks of a gift grab to me.

This, it is probably a situation where the person hosting has limited space and DD wants to maximize space for her friends. Your BFF didn’t tell you bc it’s not her choice and she didn’t want to hurt your feelings.
