I don't think anyone's mentioned it but the most fashionable menswear looks these days feature very short pants compared to prior decades. Pant hems are high and expose socks. There is no break from trousers over the shoe, caused by the hem sitting on the top of the shoe. Teen boy and twenty-year olds' preferred stores tend to carry these shorter looks.

So OP. it is obvious that your son does not go to a majority Latino school. Most of the boys I see at ours are about 5-4 and the dads are about 5 foot even.

Those pants would be too long.

Wow, this has been crazy and educational. My 15-year-old son is 5’8” and has a 34” inseam! Two moms here so I had no idea how unusual this was. I swear his proportions look normal, he doesn’t look like a spider or anything.

I think the real lesson here is that a couple of inches either way don’t make a huge difference visually but do affect pants fit…

Got it, that makes sense then. I never really dated men (beyond basic high school stuff), don't have any brothers, and my dad passed away when I was young, so clearly I am out of the loop on how this works!

People who wear 30" inseam are a huge range of heights, as this thread proves. It is a very common inseam.

It's the most common pant length.

My husband is 5'10" and wears a 32" inseam. I am 5'2" and wear a 30" inseam. Weird how we are 8" in height and only 2" in inseam. It's almost like different bodies can have different proportions!!
