PP should read the books. They are terrific. Mike Herron has said he grew up reading John Le Carre's books (which is where terminology like "joe" for spy originated). British TV does such an amazing job of actors being true to the literary characters, and the ones you see are on TV are exactly who they are in the books, actually slightly toned down. Roddy Ho is a complete creep in the books as well.

River was sent to Slough House because he was stabbed in the back during training. Forget the guy's name but he purposefully reversed the color of a target's t shirt and jacket or open shirt River was supposed to be following, so (although not in actuality) a bomb goes off killing hundreds of people after River takes down the wrong guy. Later he discovers the truth about his father. (Worth noting that Le Carre's real life father was a major piece of work so River's father in some ways echos Le Carre's real life demon).

There was a very short clio this season with a photo of a young Jackson lamb—I barely saw it but maybe someone else got the screenshot.

The stasi torture story SPOILER was that the stadi captures one of his hoes and tortured him for a name but he never gave it up. Burned off the soles of both his feet. Then found a local East German girl that his Joe had fallen in love with and beat both her and their unborn child to death. And the Joe still didn’t give up the name. Because he didn’t know it. Had never known it. So they just let him go.
I think that combined with Charles the Traitor burning all his Joes in Berlin is what made him ask for an assignment where he could do as little as possible. But of course he just can’t help himself.

That was a really tough category this year. Any of those actors would have walked away with it in most years. They were all amazing.

I also think it takes a lot of courage to leave your vanity at the door and play an unattractive person. Especially when you’re actually really pretty like Shirley!

These people who prioritize looks over acting have ruined most American made movies. This is why Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks have been shoved down our throats. They have ruined so many movies and stopped us from experiencing more talented actors.

I feel bad that he keeps getting bad questions from interviewers. One said "you must be glad not to have to sit in hair and makeup for this show." And he looked a little taken aback said it took a long time for hair and make-up to make him into Jackson Lamb. Then another said asked him about wearing a fat suit in the first season, and again he looked embarrassed and said " umm, that was all me."

Interviewers have no right to be so rude. What crappy human beings. He is amazing in this show.

My mom and I were both agreeing about what a fantastic actor he is to make his character so off-putting deeply annoying! He’s great.

He's so funny in his delusional way. He's such an important character. I almost didn't watch this show because of the first few episodes - it seemed bleak and everyone was unlikeable - but wow, did they grow the characters.
