And this is why nothing will ever improve in ACPS. Central Office would rather gaslight everyone than admit improvements are needed. We all know the transfer situation isn’t working. We all know the “closed campus” narrative is fiction; just go to that area midday.

People should stop blaming the people they have been consistently voting in. Maybe support candidates that will change the system because ACPS has been terrible for years. C'mon. Everyone knows that family that sends their kids to slum it for K-5 and then goes to SSSAS when their kids are in their adolescent years.

I was at the King-Braddock-Quaker intersection this morning and so many students were darting across traffic without a walk signal. It was legitimately terrifying! Drivers were honking and having to stop on green to allow lines of kids across, then drivers unable to go because the light turned red. Just making a bad intersection even worse at the height of rush hour, creating major back ups.

I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes and was so concerned for the students’ safety! And felt very unnerved as a driver that had students darting in front of my car when I had a green signal.

As long as there are alternative academic options ie Pvt schools, no changes will be considered. The people with power and money aren't there to make changes happen so non will be considered. There's a reason it never gets better.

What would it take for state intervention in ACHS? It clearly is a drastic step but I honestly have no faith in Central Office or the School Board to do anything at all to stop the downward spiral. School Board can barely get enough candidates to run. It is a barely functioning system.

To be fair, that does seem to be the M.O. of many school districts around here. However, this high school mess takes it to a whole new level.
