No, these places are filled with other families being loud and enjoying themselves. It’s all good.
I don't think most families go to a restaurant with the INTENT of being loud, like OP is talking about. That's what's seems entitled and off-putting to me. I have young kids and we eat out at family-friendly, casual restaurants but my kids aren't making loud noises the whole time. Sometimes it goes poorly and we try to deal the best we can but mostly we are trying to set them up for success. I have eaten at a lot of the suggestions on this list and besides food courts where the acoustics just drone out noise and no one expects any kind of experience, I disagree on most of these.
Some like Old Ebbitt are sort of formal and many are not particularly cheap (or ppl are spending $ for a normal meal out).
