Subscribe to their emails. You will get one immediately and know exactly what everyone means.

If you're curious but don't want to subscribe, go to their website and click on the About Republicans page:
https://www.penzeys.com/shop/about-republicans/
This will give you a pretty good idea of the tone of their emails. There's usually a political musing followed by a sales pitch for spices.

FWIW I usually agree with him, but find it really strange to have such outspoken political rantings embedded in product advertising.

That post seems very normal. It’s not over the top. They describe how they believe in conservative values but Trump doesn’t stand for any conservative values.. no sh!t Chet!

So you just feel bad about the messaging not that they are over the top.

As suspected.

This is the problem in the current environment.

People feel the need to police and make their own decision on what someone else is allowed to find offensive. You can be both totally against Trump AND not a fan of the Penzey’s emails.

Actually, Your response is the problem With the current environment.

There are facts and opinions, and you don’t know the difference.

The emails are “over the top”… This is a statement of fact, not opinion. The fact is, they are not over the top.

If they were to say Ext I don’t like getting emails about politics when I’m trying to buy spices, that would be an opinion or a statement of preference.

The fact Is that the statement posted is not only not over the top it is quite measured and very thoughtful.

If you can’t see that you’ve lost all perspective which again is one Problem with the current environment and the problem with what propaganda does to the brains of Republicans that follow Trump. Not Conservatives because conservatives don’t follow Trump or RINOS who also have not lost their mind.

You don’t seem to understand fact v. opinion. “Over the top” is absolutely a matter of opinion. Legally.

Honestly I am a Trump voter and I buy Penzey’s spices on occasion. I don’t care if the owner is a bit of a loon. He might not care for my business, but he’s flavoring my food anyway!

+1

+1 They are so over the top. I understand his belief system but…you are a spice company. The emails sound psychotic. Like the crazy uncle at thanksgiving. FYI-I’m liberal but the emails are absolutely nuts.

I think the owners are on here shilling all the time and it's distasteful

Doubtful. They have amazing products, and are recommended for that alone.

Still I love to send my super far right Republican spices for Christmas and as host gifts when we visit. Now that their politics are getting air time, I'm sure he will catch on and not be too happy about that.

I thought it was so on brand for her to go to Penzeys. I like their stuff, but it's sometimes too expensive for me. I have bought when they've donated profits to charities, though.

Bill Penzey isn't quite the Pillow Guy, but I have seen the comparison. The difference is that I don't see Bill Penzey bankrupting his company to chase conspiracy theories.

And if you missed it. Please watch this video of Vice President Harris in our Pittsburgh store yesterday. She is awesome!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpTCweo0tCQ

So yesterday, while taking a break from prepping for Tuesday night’s debate, Kamala Harris visited our Pittsburgh Strip district store. Because of all she is and just who our customers are, the video of her visit has been continuously playing on tv news and received millions and millions of online views ever since. Watch the video and you will see why.

There are good reasons views have spread like wildfire. She’s a cook. She cares. And in our store built to celebrate the kindness at the heart of cooking, surrounded by kindred caring cooks, the goodness of the moment went off the charts. Whoosh!

No coupon or codes are needed for the ending-tonight $35.95 4-jar Grill and Broil gift boxes for $17.95, $17.95 Mini Grill boxes for just $10, $4.95 Salsa & Pico Seasoning for $1, and $7.95 Brady Street Seasoning for just $2.

To get your also-ending-at-midnight free $3.69 Penzeys Minced Garlic with $5 purchase online at penzeys.com, once you have $5 in spending enter GARLIC in the apply code box at checkout. No need to place the Garlic in your basket, the GARLIC code will do that for you and for free. It’s easy.

Of course whatever good Democrats create the right wing media has to try to knock down. We’ve been at this for some time, but never has the media of the right tried as hard to boycott us or “Bud Light” us as they are trying right now. Lots of angry emails coming my way. Nothing new, just a little more intense than it’s been in a while.

The waves are coming from all across the right wing media board, but I especially appreciated the effort on today’s Fox & Friends. One host called us “The meanest spice shop in America."

Another host said: "And they not only believe that privately, to your point, Will, they say it publicly." And went on to read from our website: "Going forward, we would still be glad to have you as customers, but we're done pretending the Republican Party's embrace of cruelty, racism, COVID lies, climate change denial, and threats to democracy are anything other than the risks they legitimately are."

There you go. Friday starts like a normal day. Saturday the future President of the United States hugged our customers in our Pittsburgh store. Sunday the words I so wanted every Fox viewer to hear being read on Fox, by Fox straight to all their viewers. What a weekend.

I’m right there with Vice President Harris on it being time to bring America together. Oddly enough, this weekend has me right there with Vice President Dick Cheney as well. But getting the Cheneys on board started with them being honest about today’s Republican party having taken a wrong turn.

As a cook, as someone who gives of yourself to care for others, you’ve earned the respect of those around you. You are seen as wise because you are wise. If anyone can reach Republicans and bring them back onto the path of goodness it is you. You being disappointed with who they are now supporting means far more than you imagine. Keep trying. You can get through.

And the right wing has amped up their anger at us and their attempts to boycott/Bud Light us as punishment for us welcoming Kamala into our store. They are also doing this in hopes of deterring any other store from doing the same. Not letting them win at this would be a good thing. Thanks.

Thanks to everyone supporting us through the decades that brought us to this weekend. What a ride.

Thank you so very-very much,

Bill

Agree.
But it’s his company and his right to have an opinion and use his newsletter/emails to spread that opinion as he chooses.
I do find it odd when someone elects to be so polarizing and yet within the very same polarizing email suggests that he himself supports the idea of this being the “time to bring America together.” How delusional and wholly disconnected to them impact of his own rhetoric must be be must one be??? Has he honestly convinced himself that he is somehow a champion of unity? How?? Cognitive dissonance much?

Instead, it actually just sounds more like “yeah sure, we can stop being devisive as long as you agree with me. See? Dick Cheney did it and we all know he’s completely evil! So if you’re willing to admit that Trump is the worst evil that we’ve ever seen, then I can forgive you for being a dirty republican—-and our country won’t be so divided! Or, well, at least I can stop name-calling you until the NEXT presidential election where I will without a doubt scream about how whoever the next Republican candidate is will be ten times worse than trump!”

I’m just here for the part where the left is duped into embracing Dick Cheney—whom they previously dubbed the devil incarnate. That’s gotta sting.
But—anything to hang onto power I guess….

Honestly his rhetoric should be a bit “too much” for anyone who is supporting the Peru of tolerance, inclusion, and unity.

Oh wait, I forgot. The tolerance, inclusion, and unity is not for people who THINK differently from you. It’s only for people who LOOK differently from you….but only if they hold the same opinions that you hold. THEN you can tolerate, include, and unite Witt those people.

You’ve lost perspective. A news media outlet is calling them. “the meanest spice store in town.” It’s extremely appropriate to respond to that.

Their emails were very political from years ago and that's when I unsubscribed to them.

Nobody said that they aren’t political. We’re saying they’re not “ Over the top”.
