i think enforcement still needs to do their reorg. only office currently permanently closed is SLC.

Maybe management will again assume that congress will increase funding by 10 percent and go on another hiring spree. That way, all the apologists can come on here and explain why that was such a smart move and assumption.

er, they've basically been on a hiring freeze for a year. i think i've seen exactly two postings in the last 11 months not be "internal to an agency". So, no backfill is essentially reducing staff. You want they should do a RIF? i bet you're just hoping for a VERA while snarking that there are clearly tons of folks (in your mind) that could be PIPed out just because you don't understand what they do.

everyone is anticipating the budget crunch to be worse in 2025, and we aren't likely to get an actual budget again (vs a continuing resolution) until february or march, at best. so maybe 2026. if we get a favorable congress.
