GM, Ford, and Stellanis make their money from giant trucks and SUVs. These vehicles are not going away. Those companies would disappear

No idea, that would require knowing the exact circumstances of the collision. Positions, trajectories, weight, speed etc. I would suspect there could possibly be a difference between getting hit by a Suburban or a Fiat though.

Perhaps the other thing to do is enforce laws related to use of cell phones while driving. A survey by the AAA in 2022 found that in the previous month 37% of respondents admitted to reading a text or email while driving and 22% admitted to sending a text while driving. There is a remarkably lax approach to enforcing road laws in this country.
