Exception: Donald J Trump
Apparently.

You have no self-respect (so why should I respect you?), no honor and you spit on the graves of “suckers and losers.” Spare us your claim that you love the military when this draft dodging, anti-American, dictator-wannabe garbage is who you support, because it’s saying everything about you and none of it good. You clearly don’t believe in American values when you support this putrid thing who not only hates the constitution but doesn’t understand the military is supposed to serve it, not his bloated, orange a$$.

Seriously MAGA? He could just have some common decency and not film the graves of the recently deceased whose families he insulted as a campaign as. Just once, he could attend the memorial without making it a campaign ad? His staff couldn’t use their words than than manhandling civil servants at Arlington who are trying to do their jobs in a nonpartisan manner?

He is so clueless about basic rights and wrongs. I don’t know how any veteran or active service person can support him given his on going insults such as his recent Medal of Honor diss.

The Abbey Gate Families and Survivors invited Trump to lay a wreath in remembrance of the day and the Fallen. The Families invited Trump and wanted him present.
It was fine for him to be present but photos and videos were not allowed. But Trump would never do anything like that if it wasn’t recorded to benefit him in some way. And then Trump’s team assaulted the Department of the Army employee who asked them to stop breaking federal law. 32 CFR § 553.32(c) holds that memorial services and ceremonies at Army National Military Cemeteries will not include partisan political activities.
Trump was the invited guest of Marine Families who have dead children buried in Arlington. When your child is blown up and killed in Afghanistan, and buried in Arlington, you can invite whomever you want lay a wreath at their grave. If you want a picture with them, you can take a picture. You are allowed that as your child is gone forever and died violently in Service to America.
The video of Trump laying the wreath with the disabled female Marine vet was livestreamed.
Sounds on brand. The law doesn't apply to Trump, and MAGA always makes excuses for him anyway. You support a really bad guy. He wasn't there for the family. He was there for himself.

The NPR story has only one source. The Abbey Gate families are many and said it didnt happen.
I mean, the ads with the footage absolutely happened. They are on Trump’s election social media and the footage from Section 60 is in Trump ads on TV. I know MAGa denies reality. But using the footage was used for ads anyone can see. And that is illegal. Either you are delusional and literally can’t process ads streaming on multiple platforms, or you are okay with Trump breaking (more) laws. And it’s clear Trump was told about the law and members of his campaign were abusive to Arlington staff who asked them to follow the law.
It’s gross to break the law at Arlington. And worse to physically lay your hands on civil servants who are asking you to obey the law.

Statement from aunt, sister, and mother-in-law of Sgt. Nicole Gee, and the parents of Staff Sgt. Darin ‘Taylor’ Hoover. Trump was pictured smiling and giving a thumbs-up at both of the Marines’ graves on Monday.
The families do not make the rules. As it has been stated, over and over again, it was fine for him to be there, but not to use the pictures.
Please explain how this was a formal campaign event that violated the applicable law.

Seems like the families wanted Trump to capture the moment for their benefit and gave him permission to use their video and images.
You might say that this is semantics, but it's interesting that these families didn't ask Kamala Harris to attend, and President Biden is on vacation (again).
He didn’t break the law by taking photos with the family. He broke the law by using the footage in a campaign ad and other campaign materials. Not legal. Why are you okay with it? The law is for Democrats only?
