What's confusing for the college is that, hey, we have this 37 year old male freshman. And hey, we have this suite that needs someone. And they have indicated they are great with transgender, non-binary, unusual students. This is where they are going to put this puzzle piece.

Let them know that, all things considered, they are teenage girls after all and really aren't comfortable with this.

I totally get where you are coming from, OP and would not want my daughter in the same dorm as a 37 year old man. But when you opt for gender inclusive housing, you lose control on who defines what inclusive means and are stuck in the position of being age exclusive.

How uncomfortable is your daughter? Tell her to stand up for herself here.

Read The Grace Mann case. she was from Vienna and shared a home at UMW with 2 other girls and this 30yo guy. They thought hr was creepy from the beginning. And He snapped and murdered her one day. The rumor was that she was gay and rejected him, but I think it came out that he had mental health issues.

And if it were a 37 year old woman, would they (or even you) be as concerned?

The kids would definitely hate it as much, parents would be uncomfortable but I’ll grant you they’d probably be less worried about a sex crime
