Unfortunately the world is full of creeps like this guy (quite likely “harmless”) but if he’s brazen enough to do this in public who knows if he would escalate given the chance. Many sex criminals start with antisocial behavior and minor offenses before engaging in worse acts, especially if the opportunity arises. My bet is the act of looking at these photos in a crowded area made it even more tantalizing.
Unfortunately there likely wasn’t anything OP could do in this situation, but I’d rather look at my seatmate’s screen, realize he is a creeper, and be extra vigilant around him than internalize that it is my responsibility to look away from something within my field of vision so as to not disturb this man’s voyeurism.
It’s fine to “be vigilant.” It’s not fine to report him to the flight attendant or tell him he can’t look at these things.
She can 100% say out loud that is gross. And the airline can set whatever standards it wants for content. There is no intrinsic right to do whatever you want on a plane.

Yeah agree... and to be clear I didn't feel like one of us needed to be moved. Just got VERY bad vibes from him that if he's looking at that content on a plane, what is he doing in private with these girls?
This is so commonplace now. Guys live in a porn-soaked world on their phones. Mindlessly scrolling through bikini girls on IG is an everyday thing for many of them. Is what it is.

Um, what? This is totally baseless. All men look at images of women.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I think it's super weird that you monitored him and his scrolling. That's beyond creepy.
Oh c’mon. If you’re scrunched together on a plane you know your screen is visible to others and anything out of the norm is going to be eye catching. If some guy starts watching porn on their phone next to your child are you going to be like well it’s my kid’s responsibility to look away?
Now maybe bikini photos are ok while clearly porn is not. But I don’t think OP was crazy for noticing her surroundings and having her creep meter go off. And sounds like some of the photos were non consensual snaps of women in public, which again isn’t illegal, but is gross.
