Is she already pregnant? I mean good for her either way but hmm.
And no I am not judging. My trajectory was very similar.
There in their 30s so it's not really that surprising and they have likely been dating for a while.
I wonder if she has been on the verge of wanting to break away and has been questioning for a long time and her sisters speaking out against their upbringing did help push her to move forward. I really hope in all those years she at least pursue higher education. It seems like such a waste of an adult life to just sit around your parents house and do nothing with oneself.
I never got the sense she was doing nothing. She contributed massively to raising those kids and keeping up the house. Which as a feminist, should be her choice, but these things have value. She was going to nursing school. She enjoys crafting. She seemed to always have a social and travel schedule. Getting married doesn’t mean she’s now “doing something”….in fact, with her move, it may take her away from school and hobbies (which again, is entirely her choice).

For comparison, here’s the first Duggar daughter wedding. Jana sewed extra length into the bridesmaid dresses for modesty.

Glad to see they’ll be living in Nebraska after the wedding.
Anonymous wrote:If the rumor is true, congrats to her! I've admired her for doing things on her own way and on her own timeline. The social pressure to conform must be pretty intense in their social/religious circle. I've wondered if not getting married was her way to avoid having a dozen+ kids because it's a lot harder to have a huge family when you don't start having kids until your mid-thirties.

I wonder this too. The people article tone seemed to be “we’d already met and weren’t in to each other but now we’re both north of 30 so let’s just be done.”
Yep - one of those "if we don't find other people by a certain age, we'll just marry each other". Good luck to them.
