The plus is the Ferry does not run at night and extremely few hotels so no annoying tourists to ruin your night.
Plus rentals under 30 days illegal so no annoying AirBnB homes everywhere.
Fire Island’s season is over by Labor Day or mid-September, unlike Rehoboth Beach which is now virtually a year-round community. I was shocked by how hard it was to get a reservation last MLK weekend - mid-January! If OP thinks RB is too cold, any northern area is out of the question, particularly Fire Island.

That's certainly what I would do if i had that kind of cash. I wouldn't want to worry about whether my land was going to disappear or hurricanes when I'm not there etc.
People who have this type of cash are the ones not worrying about land disappearing. the elites all own beachfront property, they preach about climate change but don't particularly worry about it themselvesMany have so much money if they lose 5 mil it's not anything devastating.

Anonymous wrote:Rent. Buying means you will worry about storms. The HOA or maintenance fees will exceed your rental cost.
