I would love it. My former neighbor was FBI and current one is a state trooper. It's not been an issue, the opposite.

Why would being a State Trooper tell you what kind of neighbor this person would be? Do you really think they are all exactly alike? I can’t imagine giving any thought to this in choosing a house or a neighborhood.

No, I wouldn’t buy a house next to a state trooper because the neighborhood would be a low income neighborhood. They don’t make a lot of money.

Every LEO I've ever known- and this is DC where there are 5000 agencies- has been an egotistic, abusive, alcoholic. Hell no.


This sounds like a you problem. Every LEO I know is a good person, including the one who was my neighbor.

Large apartment complexes in Arlington with outdoor parking give cops a discount or free rent if they part their squad car in the parking lot as a deterrent to crime. My DH was a cop after he got out of the military and went to college part time. He lived rent free in a place off Columbia Pike so his police care would be in the parking lot.

Assuming he actually works then the car isn’t there all the time. Between his actual shift plus court dates and OT it’s probably barely there.

+1. I’m dealing with one of those right now. Not a peep from the old neighbors in 20+ years and this young attorney comes along and wants us to give our palm a severe haircut every year to keep the occasional frond from falling in his yard despite the arborists saying it shouldn’t be done annually. He’s also suing everyone involved in the sale and construction of his new build, including the realtor.
