Davidson and Shaw are out tomorrow.

Shaw has now been out for all 3 Olympic matches with an injury. Sadly she hasn’t seemed fit all year (doesn’t usually play 90) and probably shouldn’t have had an Olympic roster spot.

Curious to see which alternate they put in place for Davidson- Sams? We know Emma thinks highly of her, she said she’s likely the top performer in the NWSL.

Expecting to see a lot of the players who haven’t started/ played 90 to rest some of the others. Bethune, Albert, Krueger, Nighswonger, maybe Sams . We’ve already qualified for next round & will need to have players in top form for next game.

Smith, 23, revealed herself during last year's ill-fated World Cup campaign but is now maturing into a key player up front for the US. She was full of praise for the work being done by new coach Hayes.

"She is always teaching us so many things and we absolutely love Emma," Smith said.

Interesting wonder how many will move to Europe?

Can't even play a whole half against Zambia.

Must really irk you that the black players are the only ones that score.

This is a terrible retort... inserting race into a space that didn't have a race issue. GTFO.

If you were an actual fan and not a troll you would know how to spell her name correctly.

Korbin is a young great player.

If she’s so great why isn’t she starting? She has not been effective for the team in months. She is timid, misses balls, passes back, does not help move play forward. She is not playing like an Olympic/ World Cup player and I hope this is her last call up to the USWNT unless her play dramatically improves. And that’s my opinion on her play, regardless of the other controversy

Young player developing.... She will be amazing when she is 25. obviously you haven't watched her play for PSG. Rose didn't even make her US debut until she was 22. It's not easy determining which players will develop into great ones and when it's time to pull the plug. That's why the last US coach got fired...stuck with the old washed up players too long. New players need time to get experience and develop.

Korbin is on the bench because of politics...has nothing to do with soccer. US women's team is very unlikeable at the moment. New coach needs to get them back to soccer...less politics, less social media and a lot more soccer focus. She also needs to start wearing USA gear for games in my opinion. She is certainly free to dress how she likes but some USA gear would be strong.

You seem to be the only one injecting politics in here.
The coach should dress like a professional, not like a flag.

I guess the new coach listened to me...she looked good in her USA gear yesterday.

Yes. Germany looked slow in comparison. I do not know what Germany’s plan was defensively but allowing the US to run straight at goal is not a winning strategy. Naeher in goal did not look good, is problematic and the defensive is clueless when teams are one or two touch passing. The Spanish will give them problems but the tournament was always the US or Spain.

Swanson changes the entire team. Great player.

That credit can go to Hayes. She changed the team.

No, that credit goes to Swanson. She is just awesome.

No. Watch what happens when the defenses change and do not allow one on one runs to goal. It is all Hayes.

Really? You don’t think the support of the proselytizing Christian player and constant disparaging of the black goal scorers throughout this thread isn’t real?

Exactly - some (ex) players can say what they want about trans players but NO one is allowed to not agree? Come on. You are just pathetic with your "inclusion"

Rodman may not be the most skilled to watch but she has an impact on the game. yesterday she played a part in several of the goals and scoring chances. She draws attention, gets by defenders, draws fouls, starts attacks. An entire team of players like her would not be good but having her as a complement to the others is very effective. There is a reason Hayes continues to play her. It gives the team an added dimension.

You have no idea what you're talking about, look up how many players have parents that are black and white... you might be shocked to find the only player that is black, is Crystal Dunn... and everyone agrees she is amazing. Stop interjecting race where there is not an issue. To criticize Rodman, is not to criticize a 'black' player at all, it's her attitude and perhaps a poor game she may have had... nothing to do with race, especially when her mom is white and father black.

Go away. The number of mixed race and poc players on this roster is amazing. Stop bringing race into places where you don’t need to bring in race.

Talk to team Corbin (who didn’t even sniff the field today).

#lame Stop the politics. Lets get back to soccer.
