The grass at Stanford looks tacky. One of the reasons I love Berkeley more is because the buildings are cramped up closer. Colleges with massive lawns always look really ugly, because, at the heart of it, it’s just flat grass.

USC has longer history in California, and its campus is beautiful.

I can’t tell most small New England colleges from boarding schools. I’ll take Stanford over looking like a high school.

It’s not the architecture but the environment. They both do have a very clear country club vibe-Stanford has a stable and golf course on campus for crying out loud.

Parents continue to try to “shame” people who care about amenities, but if that attention results in Stanford or Duke, I really don’t see why we care about other people’s considerations. Frankly, most of this board knows nothing about top school academics, even if they attended the universities, so I’d much rather hear moms talk about something subjective with an easy opinion to have: campus.

I would prefer sending my kid to a college that resembles a combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

Mission revival is really beautiful, especially in the areas with rolling hills and valleys. I still dislike the Stanford campus, but that’s more so, because it never ever ever ends and is in a suburb

The suburban aspect is really awful. It feels like a never-ending strip mall.

I loved downtown Palo Alto, great little area, restaurants, cafes, shops.
