I hear all these issues in other divisions and I just want to keep our entire division.
My kids are on a D11 pool team also, and it has been a lovely season. Also none of the teams, are very far from one another, which is really nice early on a Saturday morning.

Anonymous wrote:The NVSL divisions work because there are exactly enough teams to make divisions of 6 teams each. If you spin off the top three, you'll end up with three extra teams elsewhere in the league. Would you put the bottom three into their own division as well? Make three 7-team divisions? Cancel three pools entirely? Or do you only care about the top two divisions, doesn't matter what happens to everyone else?

But the seeding survey asks what division you think you should be in, and NVSL can weigh that answer heavily in their decision.
Also, the factor that folks aren’t discussing are the virtual meets. The seeding survey asks which meet was most representative of your team and then they can use those meets to run virtual meets between teams. I understand that those results can heavily sway the seeding committee.
If virtual meets really matter, we should see Ravensworth Farm (D8) make a big jump. They are very STRONG against the adjacent division champions.
vs. D4 champion; Ravensworth Farm 209 - Little Hunting Park 206
vs. D5 champion; Ravensworth Farm 212 - Pinecrest 208
vs. D6 champion; Ravensworth Farm 236 - Fairfax 184
vs. D7 co-champion; Ravensworth Farm 223 - Rolling Hills 197
vs. D7 co-champion; Ravensworth Farm 243 - Parklawn 177
* All virtual meets based on July 13, 2024 results
I wouldn't use this past Saturday, because teams with older strong swimmers were missing a lot for open champs.
Using the 6/29 data, they lose 3 out of 4 head to head match ups.

Then put Donaldson Run, Highlands, OKM, Crosspointe, Langley, and Kent Gardens together
Everyone would be happier
New to swimming and not close to d1, super curious about this. Is the issue the coaches/leadership and trickles down to swimmers, or obnoxious entitled parents raising similar kids, out of any coaches’ control?
NP. We have had two kids in D1 swim (not Tuckahoe, Overlee or Chesterbrook) the past two years. I have never seen the obnoxious behavior folks make reference to here. Wondering if this is a hangover impression from years ago, or isolated instances. I will say that these teams can be what I would describe as a bit intense at times. But I have no issue with any team taking the sport seriously. Some teams are just more laid back, others not so much.
Same profile and same impression. Most of them are just people having a good time and are friendly and fine. Not discounting the isolated incidents of bad behavior and it sounds from this thread like Chesterbrook in particular might have some bigger issues. However, the issue just seems overblown to me.
Let's be real, people don't like that these teams win all the time. It's not fun to swim against them year after year and lose.
