Not true. Groundhogs dig tunnels under house and can cause damage to foundation.

If this is the case, there are many natural repellents that can easily convince them to move along. I believe the stories of groundhog attacks have been greatly exaggerated. They will not eat your children.
Groundhogs are nocturnal and seeing one in daylight is certainly a good possibility that it could have rabies. Your stupid is catching so don't infect your children!

Groundhogs are diurnal. I love how people spout nonsense so confidently.

Are we able to capture and trap it and give it to the County or do I call pest control? Husband thinks we should kill it, it may attack the children.
Have you ever heard on a groundhog attacking humans before?
Did you not watch caddy shack?!
That was a gopher. Completely different.
Then go watch Groundhog Day. Another Bill Murray classic and more entertaining than this thread.
OMG! Groundhogs, gophers, and woodchucks are all the same thing! There's an even longer list that someone posted a few pages ago but these are the terms you will see the most. They all refer to exactly the same animal.
Groundhogs and gophers aren't in the same family. One is a ground squirrel, the other is a borrowing rodent.
