maybe in one state. Biden won by 7 million votes.
I don’t think the debate changed 7% of voters minds.
Do you need the EC explained to you?
If 33,000 votes across 3 states were different in 2020 Trump would have won.
I am good thanks. I am referring to popular votes.

It definitely does matter. The complexion of the 2024 race changed from close to 50/50 odds between Trump and Biden to Trump being the clear favorite at this point in time. If Biden does the right thing by stepping down, the replacement Dem candidate will immediately become the clear favorite over Trump so all we can do is hope Biden puts his ego aside to do what is best for the country.
It is not true that a new Democrat presidential candidate would be the favorite over trump. All of those mentioned trail trump by 3 or more points.

It doesn't mean they put country over party. It doesn't mean they can't be massive hypocrites when they want to.
Because Biden leads a party whose values align with their own, a lot of posters wave away his decline. It's a grave mistake. It makes them no better than conservatives putting up with Trump because they want to further a conservative agenda.
We should get a new Dem candidate ASAP.

65% saw him as unfit for office prior to the debate, and that only went up to 72%

Notwithstanding this, the race is still tight, meaning that a sizable percentage of people (~20%) are okay voting for someone they view as cognitively unfit to lead the free world.
This is interesting because I got the impression from DCUM that there was widespread ignorance about Biden’s... let's call it affect. DCUM has consistently expressed a belief that Biden is spry and mentally agile, particularly when compared to his opponent Trump. While some DCUMers have since acknowledged that they ignored the signs, many are committed to a belief that either Biden is okay, or that his cognitive health is irrelevant to his job performance. By the numbers, this means DCUM is basically inhabited by among the most committed and perhaps extreme supporters on the left.
