I wear normal clothes that i would wear at the destination, usually the bulkiest ones so they don't take up room in my carry on. So often jeans, a jacket suitable for business meetings if it's a business trip, and low boots or sneakers depending on the season.
If my jeans or other regular pants I might wear aren't comfortable enough for a plane ride, its because they don't fit properly.
I always just do carry on and do dress specifically for long flights (not for short business flights to Nashville or Chicago or Boston). Comfortable pants, ideally with pockets, tee shirt with most comfy bra, long wrap weather that is cozy like a blanket, sneakers. I can’t get over the people that can wear sandals on a flight. My toes would be so frozen.
I’m assuming the people that wear the athleta or vuori joggers also wear them while at destination and not just on plane.
