I have a child who earned a 3.92 GPA, and they were disappointed. They work so hard and sometimes it’s just a minor thing that makes the difference between an A or an A- or between and A- or a B+. DC stays up until 1 or 2 am many nights. I can understand the disappointment because they work so hard.
Thank you—I appreciate it! After responding to the first “humble brag” post, I decided to ignore the rest. I know it’s always a risk to ask questions like this on DCUM, but every now and then, you get little nuggets of helpful information (e.g., the cumulative GPA calculator, Sidwell parents offering context for grades, etc).
It takes a parent like you, with a child that has a high Sidwell GPA, to understand the disappointment my daughter feels after working so hard—even though she has a relatively high GPA. Sidwell has been a sobering adjustment for both of us, and that’s ok to say.
