Pitt? No way. My 3.8uw/4.4w DD was waitlisted. OP’s kids stats are a little low for Pitt.

What about UNC-Asheville or SUNY New Paltz? Both are small/medium sized state liberal arts colleges in nice college towns.

I agree about Elon, Charleston, and Wooster. As well as Mary Wash, CNU, and St. Mary’s College of MD. Jesuit school’s like St. Joe’s (among others) also a good suggestion.

Pitt and Macalster, however, are a pipe dream.

No it’s definitely a possibility and I’m surprised the OP discounted it right away.

Be careful with U of Tampa. The graduation and freshman retention rates are terrible. Despite its low acceptance rate, it's not selective based on academic talent but on who can afford to pay full freight. The endowment is puny, and housing is a yearly issue.

Sometimes CTCLs get unnecessary hate on this board but this list is a really good resource for students and their parents. https://ctcl.org/category/college-profiles/

Yes on the Jesuits. Marquette and Loyola Chicago not only accepted my DC but offered her merit money!

Geographic diversity is your friend in this situation.

Oh, thank God. Feeling a little beaten down after a rough semester for one of my kids. Thanks for the tip!
