A friend’s kid had several incidents of exposing himself around that age. He is now around 10 and thankfully does not seem to be doing this. It turned out that he had pretty challenging ADHD and he had a lot of impulse control and self esteem stuff in school. He stopped acting out when he got treatment and learned how to manage socially and academically.

This came from somewhere. Does your first grader have an older brother or cousin who did this to him? Does your first grader lack impulse control in other areas? If not, I would be especially interested in finding out where he learned this behavior. There is a reason it is uncommon and more alarming than, say, pushing or even biting.

Also, unless you've worked with this age group, some 6 year olds find this to be hysterical. My brother did this a bit around this age and now is the CEO of a major company. It might not be normal, but it's not an indicator he's going to be like Trump

I would pull right out of summer school, at least for a week. You’re spending that week going to the pediatrician, a therapist, and helping your kid understand the seriousness of what happened.

I am still stuck on the “forcing other kids to pee”. I wish OP would come back and explain.

My kid would face serious consequences. It’s not normal but I can see some 6/7 year old boys thinking it’s funny. It’s not and he needs to learn there are serious repercussions.

No clue what to do about it OP. I like a PPs suggestion of threatening a doctor’s appointment if it happens again though. “Well Larlo this isn’t normal and it’s not okay, if you just can’t control yourself we need the doctor involved.”

OP, this is not normal or typical behavior. As others have noted it is a possible sign of abuse, and if it isn't abuse related, then you need to come down hard on consequences at home, because if you don't, very soon your child will be the subject of a CPS investigation based on what you are describing with him forcing other kids to pee in different places. Do not stick your head in the sand--it will only hurt you and your child in the long run.

The kid needs help

I kid around that age did this to me when I was little. Next door neighbor. He is now in prison for child pornography.

Take this seriously and seek help, OP. It’s not normal behavior and you want to do whatever you can now to help him grow into more
Normal mental pathways.
