I know you said no gift certificates, but if you get her an Amazon gift card, she can load it on her account and use it for books/kindle books she might want.
You could put $50 on an Amazon gift card and then send her a nice tea assortment or a flowering tea set that includes a clear pot (I haven’t actually had any of the flowering teas, but they’ve always seemed like they would be fun to try).

My favorite tea is the Mariage Freres loose tea. It is gorgeous, incredibly fragrant, and it feels quite luxurious to drink a cup. They have gift boxes made of two types of tea. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

I'm a practical kind of person. Are she and your son well off? I've gotten folks gas cards before and they loved it. I've done beer and wine and champagne.

Give me all the candles and all the soap, especially special, high end ones. Can't stand flowers, they die, useless. A plant is great.
