+1. GT is a much better program for engineering. That's why the foreign students want to go there. Look at the rankings

It sounds like this happened in the past. Can you tell me how your kid liked/is liking BU? We did a tour in the fall and it was our favorite it Boston. But, the lack of a traditional campus and rumors of grade deflation have us a little weary. Have these been issues?
My kid is thriving there. I think, in the end, the school is a better fit for my kid.
The whole area around BU is considered part of the campus. They can walk everywhere to enjoy food, exhibits, shopping, Fenway park and the library, or hop on the T to visit the Public Garden, downtown or the aquarium.
Her friends are all a nice and smart group. I haven't seen any grade deflation for her so far since she has gotten all A's, but it might get harder. She's already a junior standing (going to be a sophomore), thanks to all the credits she earned in high school.
So getting a Master's degree within four years is part of the plan (they have a BA/MS program).

Not OP, but our son turned down VA Tech for GA Tech in part because preferred Atlanta to Blacksburg. The cost difference is not insignificant, but also not unmanageable, because my dad left my son money to use toward college when he passed away.

UConn over VT. UConn w/merit made cost comparable. Chose UConn over VT for biology to do something in the health sciences. Didn't want an engineering school when she could attend a flagship with an affiliated university teaching hospital, lots of pre health majors with internships. They are more liberal with stem cell research.

You don't know their situation or the major. If my kid wanted to go to the School of Hospitality, Retail & Sports Management, I'd be supportive. It's a great program AND you can spend a semester in Aruba. I mean, come on!
