This is what happens when there are little repurcussions for bullies and no SROs at the school. It's going to get worse, frankly.
Hmm…so you then become the bully? This will become very circular because I can imagine the bully’s parents will want to retaliate against you for beating up their kid.

If I didn't have the resources to pull my kid out of a bad situation I would do whatever it takes to protect them. 100%
I would do whatever within the confines of the law. I just can’t see myself fighting with a child…I just can’t bring myself down to that level.
Worth pointing out that these are high school students, and it doesn't seem entirely insane to think that 15-, 16-, 17-year-old bully needs to be taken down a few pegs, and an adult being the one to do it. It's not like these adults were fighting a 6-year-old child. They could have been evenly matched in terms of physical appearance. Anyway... if the school can't protect my kid, I too would do what I had to. I also think it might do the bully some good to have a good scare and realize that sometimes easy targets have backup. Maybe they'll think twice next time.
I was bullied as a kid and it still frustrates me that my parents basically threw their hands up and said, well, we asked the school to help and they said they would so.... And no, it didn't stop until the perpetrator faced unpleasant consequences themselves that weren't from the school admin.
