NP but that is very unusual. I agree with the PP -- I almost never hear name repeats these days. And when I do, it's as likely to be a less statistically common name as not, because I think there are little micro trends in different areas. For instance, the name repeats I've encountered in the last 5 years: Harlan (one boy, one girl), Thea (one a Thea, one a Theodora nn Thea, but neither name is anywhere close to the top of the SSN list), Marlow.

I've encountered multiple kids with the same popular name, but never in the same setting. It's weird, it's like people sense "there's already a Charlotte in the area, we won't use that."

Emmett and Hadley both have a very Southern vibe, so at least they go together. Make of that what you will.

How old are they? And what area do you live in? we do not know any Zack/Zach/Zaks! I have 2 elem schoolers and we know a lot of kids age 4-12ish

That’s a fluke. There are zero kids named Luca or Matteo at my kids’ elementary school k-5. The only names that repeat in my kids’ grades are: Nora and Theo.

That must be a really small school. Most elementary grades have at least couple of kids named Ava or Maddie. Usually there are a few common boys names that are also repeated, like Chris or Ben.

I do not know any Avas and the only Maddie I know is in high school. No kids named Chris and one or 2 Bens. The names that may repeat are kind of random and specific to one social group (one school, one neighborhood, one group of friends, etc). The top 10 names are not nearly as saturated throughout the entire population like they were in the 80s-90s. Now I hardly know any kids w too 10 names and a name that may happen to be common in your kid’s peer group may be like 42nd most popular name in the country but just happens to reoccur among that specific group of kids. If you moved to a different region or even a different part of town, the most popular name would likely change.

+1. We moved to a new neighborhood 2 years ago. Old neighborhood had 2 kids named Landon on our block. Landon is ranked number 86 nationally. Now in our new neighborhood the neighborhood school my kids go to has no Landons but 3 Mabels! Mabel is ranked #312!! Not popular at all but happens to be very common in this little neighborhood. Meanwhile I know zero kids named Noah, Lucas, Isabella, or Sophia, all of which are ranked in the top 10 most popular names and have been for awhile!
