Not impressed. I read it. She had things like this:

The reason people are so unhappy with Janeese is because they feel like she never listens to her constituents. She has all these weird ideas that no one wants and yet she seems to think that she knows better than everyone else.

I looked and the first item was lawsuits against landlords. It’s a AG responsibility not a Council responsibility and she didn’t even say how many or what the outcome was beyond “consent decrees”.

The second item was what she calls her “proudest achievement”, the Homes and Hearts Budget Amendment. What she didn’t say was that it was a major tax increase that she claimed would actually “end homelessness”. Instead, what it did was dramatically increase vouchers and we know how that went. Not just along Connecticut Ave but the Post did some stories about how voucher recipients have brought drugs and violence to affordable housing communities while creating a cottage industry of voucher targeting slum lords.

And how is the homelessness problem going?

She seems like a very nice person one-to-one but unfortunately her politics are fundamentally unserious and have actually harmed people.

The only houses that I have seen JLG signs are in a couple of group houses. The young neighbors who couldn’t even clean the snow from sidewalk in the winter.

We’ve lived in the district for over 20 years and owned our home and raised kids in W4 for 12… we absolutely are representative of many families who love living here but can’t stomach putting our increasingly independent children’s lives at risk when they walk around our neighborhood.

You and JLG can deny it all you want but her tolerance for people who break the law is extremely harmful to our community and to the law abiding citizens who live here.

Yup. Same stats but in Ward 6. Also strongly considering moving because of crime and feeling hopeless that our clueless DC government will do anything about it.
