Subject: What are things that are really important in life, as you have learned as you have gotten older?

That when someone has to claim that they were "joking", they most definitely were not, and their malice came straight from their soul. When their malice is ongoing, it is time to say goodbye.

Subject: What are things that are really important in life, as you have learned as you have gotten older?
I have no idea what either of my grandmothers did for a day job. But I do know when my dad’s mom died he and I got caught stealing her homemade relishes and packing them in the van after the funeral. We got too greedy and my aunt caught on to what we were doing.
I was about 10 years old, I was standing on her kitchen counter, making too much noise i guess, then my dad came in and asked what I was doing. I said hey where is the relish. He put me down and motioned for me to be quiet then he snapped into action finding the jars and loading them into our van. Then my aunt came outside and caught him because they were all trying to talk to him because we had came down from DC but the rest of them are together all the time. She also had tens of feral cats.
My mom’s mom could make homemade breads and rolls. I know that she had a job because one time we went over there and she was getting home from work but who knows what she did? Not me.
Grandpa was a reverend and the other one was a banker. The reverend drove fast and talked a lot for a man. The banker had dementia.
Moral: Nobody ever remembers what a woman did for work but I remember what we ate every time I saw my grandparents. They all died before I was out of middle school.

You are a creature of the natural world, specifically a diurnal mammal. Make sure your days have enough outdoors activity to keep you in touch with your animality and to make your spirit creature happy. If you can find a career that doesn’t pen you up indoors, so much the better.

Excellent health.
As a young child - I remember hearing about a poll that was done where people were asked what they were most thankful/grateful for in life + the no.#1 answer was good health.
As a young, healthy child who had only suffered a cold a few times, I remember not understanding how or why good health was such a blessing?
Fast forward to fifty-five (today) & I have seen many people (both celebrities as well as personal friends and family) deal w/so many health issues and realize I am one of the lucky + blessed ones.
Because w/o our health >> nothing else matters in life.

Agree with getting enough sleep.
Floss every day.
Try to find something in each day that gives you joy. Right now we have lots of health crises going on in my family, including myself, causing a lot of stress. But every day I try to savor moments outside looking at the flowering trees or connecting with my kids or laughing with a co-worker. Little moments of sweet joy.
