Less people and have it at your home. Even if you end of catering the food, it would be much less money. Hoping the invites have not gone out.
Op here. I had wanted other friends to help but it didn’t happen. I can’t imagine asking the moms to host (and they didn’t offer). They are paying for the wedding. Alcohol just seems the thing that really kills my budget.
I called a lot of clubhouses but they were booked. I have a clubhouse but it is booked solid a year in advance.
I didn’t mean to give the impression this was a super fancy event. It’s just a normal bridal shower with brunch. The bride is not over the top, just grew up here and has lots and lots of friends.
The bridal showers I’ve attended did not serve brunch and they certainly didn’t serve alcohol. I think a normal bridal shower typically serves coffee, tea, sherbet punch, cake, and MAYBE a few nibbles.

I suppose no one wants a shower in a regional park where you could just rent a pavilion, decorate it and bring your own stuff? Are there museums or other spaces that you could rent and bring your own food and drink?
Op here. I have a large home. I can’t fit that many women or tables in my home.
I can’t recall the site but there’s a site that’s almost like Airbnb fir event spaces. A lot of places on it are party rooms in nice buildings. You could rent one for like 300, get trays and bring your own alcohol. Why do you need a full seated at tables event?
Are you dreaming that this is $300? My lame clubhouse is $550 and there’s a cleaning fee. Everyone books it because it’s so cheap. The prices mentions are normal. I think some people just don’t host and don’t appreciate what hosts do.
