Or they just don't want their info public to stalker moms.

She mainly said that she doesn't want people to know her business (although her friends already do). On the McLean site, only about 20% may have posted. Many kids who got into and committed to bragworthy schools have not posted for various reasons. At the same time, you will also see people posting who are going to NOVA.
2 years ago, we were considering Potomac from McLean public schools. I remember thinking the public schools (Langley and McLean High) had better outcomes than Potomac. This year, Potomac seems like they had an excellent year and both McLean and Langley have mostly not so great schools posted on the instagram. My kids are still young and I only get secondhand information about these schools and college. No one really talks about this in real life.
Exactly - in real life, people act like they do not care, even though they definitely do.
A few years ago, someone had posted all the admits from McLean and Langley via excel but then it got pulled. I remember it being very impressive.
Wow - how would they get all that information?! I'm sure not everyone would want to share - unless they somehow stole it from the counselors.
I can’t recall. Someone went through the trouble of making an excel with the two schools and all the kids attending from each school. I want to say McLean high had like 40 kids going to UVA and Langley had 5 or 6 kids going to Yale. I just vaguely remember that. I believe actual seniors get info on their classmates in some publication.
I remember this because many people on DCUM did not believe that so many kids could be going to Yale from a public high school. At some point, people started trolling and saying the number was 7 or 8 or even 9. My friend’s son graduated that year and said it was a very strong class.
Langley and McLean are special, special schools.

Anonymous wrote:This may be cheesy but I think it's sad the kids don't want to post. Our public high school has a pretty active Instagram account and the kids and parents are pretty great about enthusiastically liking and commenting on everyone's announcements, from community colleges to state U's to selective schools. It's just fun to see their smiling glossy grad pics and announcements after watching them grow up from little kindergarteners. This is one of life's moments to be celebrated - especially for this class that started high school in their bedrooms so pathetically.

I stumbled upon this site during Covid. I remember seeing videos of college seniors sharing where they were going to college.
