Not PP. travel for work everywhere. Istanbul is not awful but Risky. Mexico is quite bad right now. I would not go. Cape Town is more like Mexico than Istanbul. Pretty bad.

I am PP -- I don't. I travel everywhere for work. Often in risky places. I call it like I see it. My firm will not allow Mexico travel for executives without armed guards for fear of kidnapping. If you do not think Istanbul is risky you are crazy. I did not say I would not go -- just said risky. Cape Town is riskier. Still would go if I had to but not the best.
Your company is ridiculous and their fears have bled into your mind as well. I feel sorry for you, living in such fear.
