Everyone I know that has done this has very little success with any even moderately strenous exercise program.
Have you never heard of ketosis? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7310409/

To be fair, he's not a fan of chicken, turkey, or fish, so his diet was beef and pork. Perhaps those who eat all types of meat, especially the leaner types, would have better results.
Not to mention organ meats - if you only consume muscle, you'll have a relatively unbalanced nutritional profile.

is that generally in the ballpark definition of an eating disorder ? I don’t get it

It just means that you don't eat any carbs and your body gets it's energy from fat.

What is this inflammation, and how do you know you have it? Is there blood work? Or endoscopy?

I love vegetables, I can't imagine not eating them.

Exactly! Why would anyone give that up knowing how hugely beneficial they are to our health?

This diet is a horrible fad.

What are the long term consequences of eating a carnivore only diet?

They don't know. There has never been a population that has survived solely on meat. Suspected kidney issues.

My GI recommended it, after a few months, all symptoms had resolved, which was amazing. I trialed foods back in gradually and avoid those which caused symptoms. For me, a very low fiber diet has been very beneficial, my doctor said it's not uncommon. A condition I was told was chronic is now in remission.

Humans in general are bad for the planet. So is almond milk. Increased meat focused diets are so rare it’s a rounding error.

I don’t even think people that are on carnivore diets are eating meat as often as high carb eaters . Usually, they pair it with intermittent fasting from my research as meat (esp organ meats like liver) is highly satiating . I’d wager the high carb eaters are eating meat more frequently and more often.

Even if that's true, which is not, but I'll humor you, carinove diet does not provide for enough fiber, vitamins or minerals from the varied diet. How do you reconcile that?

I don't have the patience nor the interest to watch some YouTube quack. What is it you wanted to say?

It's a 40 second video......

I don't care how often you poop. You are not getting the essential nutrients or fiber from other food groups.

Anonymous wrote:I really want to start this diet but I’m curious why sugars from dairy are allowed but not a salad. Are all carnivores strictly carnivore and no plant based foods at all (fruit and veg)? I can’t even prepare or eat meat or poultry or fish dishes without vegs (garlic, lemon, bell peppers, salad).

I can believe the elimination of all grains is good for the body . All the vitamins and minerals one gets from grains are found in meat or nuts/seeds and dairy anyway.

I’m having a hard time understanding the utility behind keeping dairy but not plants

A lot of carnivores do not consume dairy products as they are inherently more inflammatory. The Lion Diet is more strict and is typically meat and water only, no coffee, dairy etc.

Some do this for a while and add back dairy and some fruits and veggies as tolerated. Meat is the most nutrient dense food on the planet so most carnivores or ketovores end up not needing to eat much after a while on the diet. Most true carnivores are quite slim and really are low on viceral fat.
