Agree single solitaire cut and platinum band is classic, showcases the diamond week, versatile/ functional and easy to clean. I don’t have to take it off to do things - exercise, travel, sunscreen up the kids, etc.
Plus it can be dressed up later as it “matches” well with other wedding bands (though I have a simple narrow matching platinum band), a channel setting eternity band, and etc.

Because they are chemically, physically, and optically identical to natural stones (i.e. they are real diamonds) and can be had for a fraction of the price, lab diamonds are eroding the prestige that many have historically associated with having a big rock. When the masses can buy a 2 - 3 ct high quality stone for $1,000 - $2,000, the elites will begin to gravitate to other, rarer gems.

Also, whatever you choose, make sure you have the prongs checked every year or so. The diamond fell out of my mother’s engagement ring due to a faulty prong.
