Yup. This trend of salivating for drugs instead of just doing what you’re supposed to be doing is bonkers.

NP. Americans are lazy. They consume high amount of carbs, sugar and calories. They have high cholesterol, pre diabetes or diabetes, but at the same time want to stay thin. Lol

same thing for Ozempic, which is what my insurance will approve (Aetna). I am willing to self pay anyway, but I cannot find it anywhere, have had prescription since December.

Your insurance will approve Ozempic for weight loss? And not Wegovy which is the same med, but specifically for weight loss?

Look, you expect insurance to be rational? My Dr put in a pre approval for wegovey, ozempic, zepboubd and manjuro (?) and it came back saying I have to try ozempic first and only if that didn’t work could I try something else. I am willing to pay out of pocket and I cannot find ANY of the 4 at any pharmacy. CVS and Walgreens told me to expect maybe in June.

I am tapering off after losing 40 lbs and it's currently $300 for 4 shots, but I am stretching them to every 10 days now so that works out to $200/month. Totally worth it, and have never had issues with supply.

I am doing similar but I have lost 8lbs and that is IT, after two months. I don't even feel so much of a decrease in appetite so much as an aversion to a lot of foods. I cannot stand fruit for instance.

It took me a year to lose 40 lbs. 8 lbs in 2 months is a good start, keep at it. Super fast weight loss isn't sustainable or healthy, and more likely to rebound. After a year I really have changed my eating habits, even if I still need a low dose to maintain.

I encourage anyone thinking of going on Ozempic to try carnivore for 30 days first. Look up Dr. Anthony Caffee. You will get better results on carnivore, none of the nasty side effects and you don't have to stick yourself with a needle every week.
What do you have to lose? It's only 30 days

25 lbs at a normal BMI is vanity weight. Pay for your own botox. Pay for your own weight loss meds.

Truly curious about this… if someone was prescribed Ozempic to lose a lot of weight (say 100 pounds) would insurance stop covering it if they were within 25 pounds of goal weight?

If not, I feel like OP’s insurance should cover them.

Yes, and then they bounce back and repeat the cycle.

You are truly exhausting and evil. I’ve lost 60 and keeping it off just fine without Ozempic. Suck on that.

I know people on here flame, but wanting to lose weight to fit into our cultural ideal sucks. Being hungry sucks. I’ve explored my options and found that Ivim would prescribe me 1 month of mounjaro (not even fudging my stats!). So I am considering that. But mainly I am just leaning into being hungry. It’s sad but the only way for many of us to lose (let alone maintain) without drugs. I will probably be hungry the rest of my life until I decide to let it all go!

Why be ashamed. It is what it is.

I used it to lose 15 pounds. I paid out of pocket. Even though I was not technically overweight, I am prediabetic and had a hard time losing with menopause. I work out every day and eat really healthy. My family is thin and diabetic. In order to get my glucose levels lower, I needed to lose at least 10 pounds.

Sounds like you need therapy to work on your self confidence and body dysmorphia, and not ozempic.

I agree.

I also think that OP should consider a diet shift. Don't go hungry but eat a lot of healthy fats and cut out sugars and other high-inflammation foods as much as possible.
