Check out 9 to 5 Chic. She doesn’t wear jeans often but has good style.

I think that these wide jeans are not great with sneakers so you may want to try them with different footwear. I think something with a more feminine aesthetic is best, but even Chelsea boots, loafers may be better than sneakers.

I also think a fitted base shirt tucked in with a blazer, light jacket or cardigan looks good

I’m not wearing wide ridiculous pants that
make me look 10 lbs heavier. No thanks.

I like both of these two looks (Evereve) for women over 40.

I saw a mid40s (I think) woman wearing the baggy jeans at a museum today and it looked so so unflattering. Dress for your body type!

I just bought light blue high waisted flared jeans and they look great on. They have some stretch to them but extremely flattering.

Horrible.

I like these looks a lot.

Careful - they look good on her - she has a fabulous figure so anything is going look good. But, just seem sloppy/lazy to me.

I'm not wearing that. I'm 47 and 5'5 and 130 lbs. I wear actual straight leg jeans, which are not glorified skinny jeans, but true straight. I'm not wearing giant legged pants. I have a few mini boot, but mostly straight, and they are fine.

Just buy boot cut and be done with it.

Does this shift to wide leg jeans mean we’re not going to be wearing them at or above the ankle anymore?

This is the style that works best for me, too. I tried a recent Wirecutter recommendation and bought a pair of the straight leg Gap 90s jeans they said looked great on everyone. I'm short and they look awful on me. I feel like I'm ready to work the farm in them. They have now become my walking-the-dog jeans.

A very dark wash will also make this style more wearable

These three are the only cute jeans that have been posted on this whole thread. Man, threads like this always make me feel sad for the dc fashion scene.

Whereas I find them pretty dated. The ones that are fitted in the hips/thighs are more flattering maybe but they're not on trend.
