Yeah, your kid can learn how to hold their pee all day, and how not to piss off the maladapted kids who may “go off.” There are serious social issues in our local public schools, post-Covid. Too much isolation did not help anyone.

9th grade, boy. From private Catholic K-8.
First choice is Potomac, so not sure what to do.

Wow Field is a nice school but is well known to be for students that struggle or have learning disabilities and you are saying they sent 10 percent of last year's grads to the Ivies? Are colleges not aware of the massive grade inflation? Shocking.



I don't know but the college results are just as good if not better than the results for the Big3. Plus the kids have had no stress in high school!!

I really think we WAY over estimate how much colleges care about prestige.

They want high GPAs. Period.


They are realizing this was a big mistake which is why the top schools are now bringing back standardized testing. Some of these kids can not write a paper or a well thought out paragraph for that matter. You may get into an IVY and may even get hired but you a just as easily get fired once you can't pull your weight. Seen it happen. Writing and speaking skills are the most important factor in success no matter what field. You must be able to concisely express your views and opinions and relate them to others even in finance. Child was told these would be the most important things to focus on in undergrad.




You do realize that just because many schools got rid of standardized testing...doesn't mean they don't test the kids right? My daughter had to take a test at just about all the schools she applied to for 4th grade. They just did their own tests and writing samples. So if a child is accepted someone and cannot write, that is not because the school didn't accept standardized tests.

Well all of them except NCS have buses, which helps.

WL at Maret
For ninth grade
Leaning towards Field but want to see if we can get into MacArthur via the lottery. Am thinking the savings in tuition will go for tutors and then some!

Does anyone know if Maret rejects kids or are they all waitlisted? I haven’t heard of one rejection yet
