Not saying it actually is number 1, but it is hilarious to me that with all the problems in MCPS closing the "best" elementary school in the State (and by all accounts at least a well-regarded school where most parents seem happy) is where this Board's mind has gone. These people have no idea how to actually improve the school system. They're just floundering.
We need to make the School Board an actual, full-time job position, and pay it as such, to try to lure candidates with some actual qualifications and competency in running a large school system. Not the random group of activists and bored empty-nesters we have now.

I would not bet that. Given what some cluster and folks have had to live with, and the current overcrowding and budget cuts these new boundary studies are going to be watched closely. MCPS can’t afford another scandal or coverup.

It’s always been underenrolled but it would be pretty easy to pull an adjacent neighborhood in to fill those seats. It is definitely a rundown and outdated building decades overdue to be renovated or rebuilt. They’ve had it on the list at least since my oldest was in K and now she’s graduating college. They just kept pushing construction back.
I think Harris makes a good point, though: with a tight budget, is it fiscally responsible to invest in rebuilding Cold Spring when there is already more than enough capacity available within the other Wootton cluster elementary schools?

Haha! Can someone explain why Stone Mill kids go to Cabin John instead of Frost? Makes no sense.

It would make sense if Coldspring moved to Churchill and that was the change. Otherwise it houses the Gifted program.

Harris makes zero valid points. She had been in favor of busing all over the county. It would make sense if Coldspring moved to Churchill and that was the change. Otherwise it houses the Gifted program.
Under this board, test scores have deteriorated, leadership is a joke and they are complciit with hiding sex offenders and ousted the leader to cover up their blunders.
These clowns need to go.
