Exactly. 2 months ago they were walking through the desert to get here. They’ve had a tough year. Now they’re here and they’ve been given funds to get a car, and they’re driving, and it’s all very new and confusing to them. In a couple years they’ll have their driver’s license and car insurance and they be just like anyone else on the road. C’mon man, cut them some slack, Jack.

You people are soooo rude, cut other humans some slack. There are adults learning to drive too. Does it make you feel like a badass when you speed by them and flip them the bird!

There are kids who are nervous on the road. You were not always this awesome driver. You were young once.

I don’t understand why people are so mean. You will not get there that much faster. It’s not their fault you left late.

I was the ah a few years ago when I was stuck driving my kids to middle school. Several days I was frustrated with a specific car driving kind of slow in the left lane as we went to school. It took several days before I learned it was a kid driving himself for the first time. He was being safe and I was being a jerk. I am not a selfish jerk so I don't hate on people who use the signs. It's so dcum to be offended by the new driver sticker.

Obviously, some of you have never taught a new driver.
I appreciate the stickers more after teaching three kids to drive. Even at 50% are not new drivers it is still worth the warning.

I am in upstate New York and recently got one and I’m a 35 year old woman. I moved to dc after college and never learned to drive because I had Ubers and metro. Then I moved to upstate and I couldn’t learn because of the pandemic and kids at home (I didn’t want to learn with them in car).

So I am tackling my fear of driving and taking lessons and doing test drives with my husband as passenger during off peak hours. I drive at speed limit and maybe turn a bit slow and wait for opportunities to turn left (sigh). So I got one because I thought it would help. There is my story and it’s my second month driving! (Proud of myself for it but literally a ball of anxiety every time and I haven’t even went on highway yet!!) wish people were nicer and more patient on the road.

My daughter is about to get her license. There is a student driver magnet on the back of the car she is using. She has to get so many more hours of practice to qualify than we did as teens. We are constantly letting her drive to an activity, dropping her off, and then driving home. I do usually forget the stupid magnet is there. Oh, well.

People need to get over themselves. And those of you acting as if we are all using them all the time so we can drive like beginners? Boy, are you in for a rude surprise when your own kids get their permits and you have to spend dozens of hours in the car with them.

I realized now that 99% of people in our area are liars.

People here have no patience, and there are lots of young drivers and people new to driving moving here.

I appreciate the stickers, as it lets me know they are learning and not drunk or something.
