When are you posting from? In 2024, when I'm posting from, he's running for US Senate, not Maryland governor. As 1 of 100 senators, he wouldn't do anything.

Add to this, the Montgomery County Executive term limits ballot question is most certainly going to pass. This will make Elrich the lamest lame duck in existence. He may as well retire to Cuba and let Madaleno run things through the end. This will set up, if not Blair, someone like Andrew Friedson to run and win in 2026 which is the furthest right we can expect in the county.
It’s all in relative terms, but Maryland is making a lurch to the center-right this year.
Friedson is the main driver of this YIMBY missing middle nonsense. I think that, overall, he’s ok, but that might kill his chances in 2026.
No doubt he is shaking in his shoes.

It doesn't sound so bad, if you don't live in a society where, for hundreds of years, women have been discounted as being "too emotional" for voting, holding elective office, pursuing careers, and generally being adults who get to make their own decisions for themselves.

2 Democratic opponents who weren't good candidates, and a Democratic supermajority in the General Assembly.
+1 2014 was a genuine red wave year (that 2024 will not be) and Brown wasn’t a great opponent. Then he was an incumbent who had done a decent job and Jealous was a much worse opponent.
