I’m really annoyed by the expectation that I always have to be the one to call. I’m the one with the full time job, kids, and nonstop activities. I think she’s called me less than 1% of all the times we’ve talked. Once when I was in my 20s and we got into a fight, I stopped calling. She didn’t call me for 4 months and then had my dad texting me to call her. It’s so childish. I’m never too busy to take a call from her btw.

My MIL does the same thing which basically means she never talks to us and has no idea what’s going on in our lives. Dh would love to talk to her but he’s not into calling people. Crazy how much she misses out on.

My brother sodomized me when I was 11. My parents learned of the attack and did nothing. I spoke to my mother once between 1989 and her death in 2021 (father died in 1995). I did not attend her services.

My toxically negative narcissistic mother tries to infiltrate my life with her nastiness on a daily basis even though she’s been dead for a decade. Luckily I’ve done a lot of hard work in therapy so I’m pretty good now at telling her to STFU and get out of my head before wasting more than a little time on her each day. So grateful that she wallowed in her addictions and died relatively young from them so that I have some time left to live in peace without her being in this world and my life anymore. Hope you are rotting in hell, Ma, with all the other child abusers.
