I loved how Lionel imitated MJ saying his name! Michael Jackson is so darn problematic but I got goosebumps every time he sang.

I def thought Diva when watching it but, after reading these comments, could see it as more just the flakey, artsy type who cannot be constrained by time, money, schedules, etc.

Definitely increased my respect for most of the artists that participated.

I can understand why Sheila E. was a little pissed - she was a talented artist in her own right. But it wasn't cool that she left early. Although they don't go into how much pressure they were putting on her about Prince and it does sound like they did a bait and switch on her about having a solo.

Stevie doesn't come off as a diva. Just a "creative type" who didn't seem to have much of a pragmatic, we have a limited time to get this done side. And, it was really sweet how he helped Bob Dylan get into and feel comfortable with his solo.

Kudos to Lionel for pulling it off! With so many big personalities and such a short time, he made it happen. Although I was really sad to see it looks like he's gotten some plastic surgery that does not look good.

They wrote and recorded that song in less than two months, Stevie was working on two albums at the time, I’m sure they were just happy to have him show up.

Loved it! Huey Lewis, is indeed, a national treasure. Lionel Richie too. Watching Bob Dylan was so uncomfortable....

There do seem to be some randoms, but it was nice to see who showed up and who did not. Still wondering if Madonna was invited. Guessing she was too much of a PITA to work with.

Sheila E. leaving was not cool. Same with Waylon. Good on Dylan for sticking it out, he wanted to help. But agree with PP that I would watch two hours of his reactions. Was the part with Stevie showing Dylan his part cut out?

Also wondering about Dionne's reaction to Willie. C'mon. OTOH, some people we expected to be divas came across as level headed, considering.
