A perfectly acceptable response is simply "no" but, honestly, I'd wonder what her motive was. Seems very off.

It was really tacky of her to go straight to Jill when she got the save the date, knowing you weren't close friends. Good job on your friend for making EVERYONE uncomfortable here.

It's common knowledge that weddings are expensive and often seating is limited. Whittling down a guest list to people you actually like is hard enough!

Agree. And do not invite this quasi friend.

I would keep the original friend on your list but be firm if she brings it up again. Just say “I don’t want her at my wedding.” Any boundaried person would not push again.
