I'm male 5'4", my wife is at least 2 inches taller, beautiful blue eyes, has a Ph.D. from Harvard (not kidding), and seems to like me.

She says that she never really thought about my height. However, I've been rejected (and yes heartbroken) by plenty of girls who did care.

I would advise your son that many, many girls will not give him the time of day, and that's fine. Move on (fast). Some girls will love him, including his height.

I came to think of my height as any other characteristic. Some folks may hear my accent and find it annoying. (That's fine, I'll stay away from them.) Some may hear my accent and find it charming. (Now we're talking.)

It’s actually even taller in the younger generations due to better nutrition. A lot of older people in Asia have stunted growth especially if they were from families impacted by wars (and the cultural revolution).

Nope. He can date tall women. He is not that short.

My brother is 6'3, sweet, handsome and had his first girlfriend at 26. He was a late bloomer. It's that simple.

Why are you insecure about your son's height? You need to work on that.

I advise him to hit the gym. Short height is advantageous in certain strength and fitness sports like Crossfit and Olympic-style Weightlifting. 5x Crossfit Champion Mat Fraser is 5'7". Girls will like the muscles and he might enjoy being in a situation where his height is an advantage.

Also, if it's a Crossfit gym, he'll meet girls.

He needs to focus on meeting people in person where his good qualities can shine.

Online dating he will be filtered out by his height and get very few matches.

I'm 5'7" and never had issues dating and even dated women a little taller than me. There's so much more than just height when it comes to dating especially when the average height of women in the US (assuming not gay) in his approximate age group is 5 4.5" according to wiki. Like others have said there are plenty of other factors like looks and personality, and as he gets older, education, profession, income etc. Looking back at your post OP and request, his height won't hold him back so no need to base your sadness/concern on his height.

All this superficial stuff is just that… I grew up as an acne ridden teen with tiny boobs. Never had any issues dating and DH is the absolute best person for me.

Your son is fine at 5’6. He can focus on shorter girls but shouldn’t assume taller ones won’t like him. Also, shorter people have been shown to love longer and healthier lives.

No one can have it all.

He should have no issues so long as he grows up to be a good man.

His chances of having success will be higher if he maintains a healthy lifestyle and focuses on his career.

Shorter men are often more driven to be in better shape and work harder at becoming financially secure. They become aware of their shortcomings as they realize attractive women generally prefer taller men.
