+1. APS only cares about attendance because VDOE has told them to care.
Exactly. At least one other person gets it.
This. This principal doesn't even show up every day or on time. It's hypocritical.

Anonymous wrote:Question, what was the previous principals job? We had a terrible experience with a new principal and even with Ton of data backing up their terrible behavior it took 2 years to kick him out. Start early! School board and any admin you can reach. Our principal was known to be difficult at his previous posting.

.Anonymous wrote:You must be new there. The previous principal was criticized for being way up in all the teachers’ business and playing favorites. She ran a very tight ship. In the end her style really worked for my kid, but there was lots of complaining.
Given the new zone for the school, just leave five minutes earlier.

asfs website says school starts at 9 am

Uh, when I go to the link you posted it says this:
“School Hours: 8:50 AM – 3:50 PM”
Oh how interesting . . . someone changed it tonight. Two hours ago, it said 9:00 a.m. as start time, and even my son's teacher told me it has been 9:00 a.m. for many years, and she has been there for at least a decade.
For more than a decade, students were expected to be in their seats by 8:50. They have to be stricter about it now because some parents are lazy.
