We both feel that way.

And as a mom your wife's reaction is odd and immature.

Child. DH can take care of himself and if he can't I will miss him dearly. I would expect him to say the same.

If there ever really was a "save one but the other dies" situation and one of us chose to let our kid die, the parent who got "saved" would never forgive the rescuer, so what's the point?

We’d both pick our kid(s). No point in picking me because I’d prefer to be dead over living thru something bad happening to my children. I know he feels the same.

NP. Many years ago my wife was extremely upset when I said I'd save our child. I was shocked that anyone would do otherwise. Our marriage never really recovered, even though she ALSO said she would save the child over the spouse. She just expected me to save her. I think she probably feels differently about the responsibilities of father and husband now but I'm not sure.

Hi DH! Yes, I would totally be pissed if DH saved me. I'd have to live with the fact that my dear child died instead of me, which would be torture. Please save my child.

I'm a man and most of my men friends would say the same.

My child. I have already asked my DH that if we are in danger he has to take our child and run and just forget about me.

Child ofcourse. Even if I had got super lucky with partner and couldn't live without them. They would expect met save the kid also.
