Crown doesn’t really need to be built. There are enough high school space to accommodate some overcrowding high schools. All they need to do is just to slightly shift the boundaries.
"Slightly" shift which boundaries where?
QO to Gaithersburg or Wootton. Gaithersburg/RM to magruder, sherwood, etc.
That's just hand-waving. I think we need more detail.
Maybe a county wide boundary study would do just that......
The county-wide boundary analysis provided a lot of useful information. There is not going to be any county-wide boundary study. Whether you think there should be one, or whether you think there shouldn't be one, there is not going to be one.
ok cool guy - potato potatoe
Like you said the analysis provided plenty of information that showed that the county needs to stop looking only within a cluster to solve overcrowding. Look beyond the cluster and take advantage of the underutilized schools.
How, specifically? Which areas should be shifted from which schools to which schools?

and showed a whopping <1% decline in MoCO from 2020, during which pandemic-related moves had seen a greater than typical shift to the exurbs. Meanwhile, the under-18 population trend was increasing.
With the usual references to taxes, etc., I'd hazard a guess that this is just an attempt to start a conversation in a particular direction. I mean, why provide public education at all, really, when all it does is make us pay, AMIRITE?

And yes, MCPS loses the land rights if they don't build Crown.
I believed, until I ran the numbers. Overcrowding is BS. RM, QO, NW and Gaithersburg could just shift boundaries to less crowded schools. But that would mean, for example, assigning kids to Watkins Mill.
I'm now in the camp that says the only reason why Crown is being built is to (a) keep the land rights and (b) provide the Central Office staff who live in CG and work at Hungerford with COSA options.
Specifically which areas do you think MCPS could "just shift", from which specific school, to which specific school? If you can run the numbers, then you can also show us your work.
Go read the numbers on CIP of each clusters yourself. It’s not that hard. Who are you, so entitled that he/she has to show you the work?
